Strain Breakdown
The Royal Details
Micros are the smallest whole buds on the plant. Same flower, same cure, same lab testing as everything else in the Kingdom, just the bottom rung of the size ladder and priced accordingly. Sold from an ounce up to a pound alongside our bulk THCA flower.
The short version
- Micros are whole buds, not shake and not trim. They are simply the smallest ones.
- Same plant, same harvest, same testing as the full size flower beside them.
- Once ground, you cannot tell. This is the cheapest way to buy real flower.
- Both greenhouse and indoor appear on this listing. The label tells you which.
What micros actually are
A cannabis plant does not grow one uniform bud. The flower at the top gets the most light and finishes largest. Everything below it gets progressively less, so it finishes smaller.
Micros are the smallest of those buds. They are still whole, intact flower with the same trichome coverage, the same cure and the same batch testing as anything else from that harvest. What makes them cheap is their size, not their quality.
Micros, smalls, shake and trim
These four get used interchangeably and they are not the same thing. The difference matters, because two of them are whole flower and two are not.
| Grade | What it is | Whole flower | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full size | The largest buds from the top of the plant | Yes | Bag appeal and display |
| Smalls | Buds from lower on the plant | Yes | Everyday smoking, strong value |
| Micros | The smallest whole buds on the plant | Yes | The cheapest real flower |
| Shake | Loose material that falls off during handling | No | Filling papers cheaply |
| Trim | Leaf cut away from the bud | No | Infusions, not smoking neat |
The line that matters
Micros are whole flower. Shake and trim are not. That is the real division on this ladder, and it is why micros smoke like flower and shake does not. If you grind before you roll, micros do the same job as anything above them for noticeably less.
Greenhouse or indoor
Both appear on this listing and the strain label tells you which is which. The growing method changes the flower more than the size does.
| Label | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Greenhouse | Grown under glass using sunlight with some climate control. Reliable, well cured, the cheaper of the two |
| Indoor | Grown entirely under lights with full climate control. Denser and more consistent, and it costs more even at micro size |
Choosing a weight
This listing runs from an ounce up to a full pound.
| Size | Grams | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| 28 grams | 28 g | Seeing whether micros work for you |
| Quarter pound | 112 g | A steady smoker, a month or two |
| Half pound | 225 g | Heavy use, or splitting with others |
| Pound | 450 g | Volume buying and rolling in quantity |
Divide the price by the grams and compare that number. Cost per gram is the only figure that tells you whether one listing is genuinely cheaper than another, and micros usually win it outright.
Storing them
Airtight, cool and dark. Glass rather than plastic, because plastic holds static and pulls trichomes off the bud, and smaller buds have proportionally more surface area to lose.
Add a humidity pack rated 58 to 62%. If you buy a quarter pound or more, break it down into smaller jars on arrival and open only the one you are using. Do not freeze it.
Not sure micros are for you
Take a single ounce first. If you grind before you roll, most people find they cannot tell the difference, and the cost per gram is the lowest on the site.
Frequently asked questions
What are THCA micros?
The smallest whole buds on the plant. Same flower, same harvest, same cure and same batch testing as the full size buds, just at the bottom of the size ladder. They are graded by size, not by quality.
What is the difference between micros and smalls?
Size, and nothing else. Smalls are buds from lower on the plant. Micros are smaller again. Both are whole flower from the same harvest with the same testing behind them.
Are micros the same as shake?
No. Shake is loose material that falls off the bud during handling, and trim is the leaf cut away from it. Micros are whole, intact buds. That is the important difference, and it is why micros smoke like flower.
Are micros lower potency?
Size does not determine potency. Micros come from the same plants and the same harvest as the larger buds on the site, and every batch is lab tested. What you are paying less for is the size, not the strength.
How should I store them?
Airtight, cool and dark. Glass rather than plastic, with a 58 to 62% humidity pack. Break larger weights down into smaller jars on arrival and open only the one you are using. Do not freeze them.
Will they show up on a drug test?
Assume yes. Standard tests look for THC metabolites and do not distinguish hemp derived from anything else. If you are tested for work or any other reason, do not use it.
